WHAT DO WE DO? WHAT ARE OUR OBJECTIVES?
Our objectives are to address loneliness, social isolation, cyclical depression, anxiety, prescribed mental health & disabilities through the practice of Arts & Crafts within Riverside Studios. Also available are our individual community workshops & fine arts & crafts for sale within our Studios.
We aim to promote the Arts as a key driver for social inclusion, economic regeneration, increased employability, creative therapies, volunteering & learning opportunities for all ages, within our studios & community.
COMMUNITY ARTS & CRAFTS TRAINING INITIATIVE 2020
CACTI is delivered by a group of Artists & Crafters, working through their artistic practices to train communities in new crafts skills and develop new areas of expertise in employability and self-employment, while making links with other agencies who can help encourage members to take further steps to social inclusion, community cohesion, growth, active healthy living and co creating.

Join us within our Artists Studios and Gallery Shop where you will find a hive of activities for you to utilise whether you live here or just passing through, we would be delighted to invite you to join in our community of artists and crafters through our workshops and projects as well as experiencing our Fine Art, Design and Hand Crafted work for sale in our shop. Our shop has a variety of “One Off” pieces of Art Work, with various mediums from Oil, Acrylic, Pencil etc. Paintings and drawings to Wood Carved Loggerheads and Hand Crafted woodworking, Pottery, Hand Build and Wheel, Jewellery Designing and Stone Setting, Semi and Precious Metals and Stones, Stained Glass making, Slumping and fusing, Spinning and Weaving, Needle Felting and Macramé.
Volunteer with us!
Riverside Studios are managed by resident artists on a volunteer basis. We support our community through delivering workshops for Schools as well as working with Adults through our Community Arts & Crafts Training Initiative, (CACTI). We work in conjunction with partners such as Community Connectors, NHS CPN’s, Social Work, Job Centre, Community Builders etc.
We have 6 Artists in residence and each one produces their own artwork for sale within Riverside Studios, Online and local Arts & Crafts market places.
Each of our Artists and Crafters are approachable for commissions for public and private needs.
We are developing our volunteer posts for our community workshops and we are working with Ayrshire Colleges to develop and facilitate placements for new students studying in a Social Care environment.
Pop into Riverside Studios, 27 High Street, Ayr, KA7 1LU. We are located on the left of Pollock Williamson Butchers. We have some disabled parking across from the Studios but this is pending the Council Riverside project. We have a selection of busses stopping at our door. There is free parking the other side of the Auld Brig, in TK Max. We have disabled access and toilets on the ground floor.

We are a collective of local, trained and experienced, artists and crafters who facilitate arts & crafts workshops/training from within Riverside Studios, 27 High Street, Ayr.
An established a hub for creative industries, providing a bank of Artists of varied disciplines, to facilitate workshops & local community projects.
We wish to develop our social enterprise & business partnerships within the town, nationally & internationally beginning with grass root partners such as NHS and South Ayrshire Council as well as helping promote other local “ like minded “ social enterprises who are now part of the same town community newly developing “for the good of others” being their priority.
